The container looked like the sort used for holiday decorations or old paperwork, which is presumably why nobody opened it before the auction.
$300,000 Stuffed Inside a Teddy Bear
A couple in Arizona bid $10 on an abandoned storage unit that contained a worn couch and a teddy bear sitting on one of its cushions. Nobody else bid.
As they sorted through the unit’s contents, they discovered the teddy bear had been packed with $300,000 in tightly rolled bills. The storage unit returned a thirty-thousand-to-one return on their bid.
An Impressionist Painting Worth $155,000
Storage Wars cast member Dave Hester purchased a storage unit for $750. Among its contents was a painting by California impressionist Jack Wilkinson Smith titled The Golden Pool.
