Shopping second-hand has become more popular than ever, and for good reason. You save money, reduce waste, and sometimes find unique items that aren’t available in stores anymore.
Most used purchases are perfectly safe and smart choices.
But some items carry hidden risks that aren’t immediately obvious. Previous owners might have used them incorrectly, stored them improperly, or simply worn them out beyond safe limits.
The bargain price might seem appealing, but the potential consequences can be far more expensive than buying new.
Car Seats
Never buy a used car seat. The plastic components weaken over time, even without visible damage.
Previous crashes can compromise the structure without leaving obvious signs.
Manufacturing standards change frequently. That seat from five years ago might not meet current safety requirements.
Mattresses
