The term “nepo baby” has been everywhere lately. And while names like Hailey Bieber and Brooklyn Beckham come up constantly, there’s a whole other tier of celebrities whose famous family connections quietly slipped under the radar.

These aren’t the obvious ones. These are the people you’ve watched for years without ever stopping to think, “Wait — who are their parents?” Some of them have worked hard to stand on their own.

Others have leaned into the family legacy more than they let on. Either way, the connections are there, and once you know, you can’t unknow them.

1. Zoë Kravitz

Most people know Zoë’s mother is Lisa Bonet, but her father is Lenny Kravitz — rock legend, style icon, and one of the most recognizable musicians of the last three decades. And that’s not all. When Lisa Bonet was still married to Bill Cosby before her marriage to Lenny, Zoë grew up in a world completely saturated with entertainment industry royalty.

She also became a step-daughter to Jason Momoa after her mother remarried. Her path to Hollywood had a very well-paved foundation.

2. Maya Hawke

She plays Robin in Stranger Things and has built a genuinely solid acting and music career. But Maya Hawke’s parents are Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke — two of the most critically respected actors of the 1990s and 2000s.

Her entry into the industry wasn’t exactly a cold call.

3. Dakota Johnson

Dakota is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. Her grandmother is Tippi Hedren, the Hitchcock-era actress.

That’s three generations of Hollywood. People tend to focus on her Fifty Shades work without thinking much about where she came from.

But the connections run deep — and they go back decades.

4. Rashida Jones

Known for Parks and Recreation and a long list of other projects, Rashida Jones is the daughter of music producer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Quincy Jones shaped the sound of contemporary pop music more than almost anyone alive.

Rashida has carved out her own identity in comedy and writing, but the family name opened more than a few doors early on.

5. Lily Allen

Lily Allen broke through with Smile in 2006 and presented herself as a sharp, working-class voice in British pop. Her father, though, is Keith Allen — a well-known actor and figure in British film and television.

Her brother Alfie Allen played Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones. The family has been entrenched in the UK entertainment world for a long time.

6. Kate Hudson

Her mother is Goldie Hawn. Her stepfather is Kurt Russell. Between those two people, Kate grew up surrounded by A-list Hollywood on a daily basis.

She won a Golden Globe for Almost Famous early in her career, and while her talent is real, the network she had access to from birth is something most actors spend their whole lives trying to build.

7. Colin Hanks

Tom Hanks is one of the most beloved actors in cinema history, and Colin is his son. Colin has done solid work across TV and film — Fargo, Dexter, Untitled Christmas Movie — but he tends to fly under the nepo baby radar because he uses his father’s last name without it feeling scandalous.

The connection is obvious once you think about it, but it rarely comes up.

8. Allison Williams

Before Get Out and M3GAN, Allison Williams was a lead on Girls. Her father is Brian Williams, the longtime anchor of NBC Nightly News.

Media and entertainment are different worlds, but they overlap more than people realize — especially at the level where her father operated. Access, visibility, and connections across industries have a way of crossing over.

9. Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee has been in the public eye for decades, and she’s a powerhouse in her own right on Black-ish. But her mother is Diana Ross.

One of the greatest entertainers in American history. Tracee tends to be celebrated as self-made, and in many ways she is, but growing up as Diana Ross’s daughter means growing up with a certain kind of access and visibility that shapes everything.

10. Scott Eastwood

Clint Eastwood’s son has appeared in The Longest Ride and Pacific Rim: Uprising. He plays a lot of the same rugged, all-American roles his father made famous.

The apple did not fall far. And while he’s credited as Scott Eastwood on screen, there’s no question what name helped get him in the room.

11. Mamie Gummer

Mamie is the daughter of Meryl Streep. Full stop. She’s worked steadily in television, including a lead role in Emily Owens M.D., and has done stage work as well.

But Meryl Streep is arguably the greatest actress in film history, and that last name carries enormous weight in the industry — even when you’re trying to step out of the shadows.

12. Anjelica Huston

This one surprises people because Anjelica Huston is such a legendary figure herself. But her father was John Huston, the director of The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen, and Chinatown (which Anjelica appeared in).

Her grandfather, Walter Huston, was an Oscar-winning actor. The Huston family is one of the great Hollywood dynasties, and Anjelica is its most famous living member — who is also, by definition, a nepo baby.

13. Bryce Dallas Howard

Ron Howard has directed some of the most successful films in Hollywood history — Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code. His daughter Bryce has become a serious actress and director in her own right, best known for Jurassic World and The Mandalorian

But growing up as Ron Howard’s daughter meant growing up inside the industry in a way that’s almost impossible to replicate from the outside.

14. Jeff Bridges

The Dude himself. People don’t think of Jeff Bridges as a nepo baby because he’s been a legend for so long that his origins feel distant. But his father was Lloyd Bridges, a hugely successful actor, and his brother is Beau Bridges.

Jeff’s first film role came when he was an infant, appearing with his father. The career that followed was absolutely his own — but it started in a place most actors never get near.

15. Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis is beloved across generations — from Halloween to Knives Out to her Oscar win for Everything Everywhere All at Once. Her parents are Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, two of the biggest stars of the 1950s and 60s.

Janet Leigh is famous for the shower scene in Psycho. Tony Curtis starred opposite Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot

Jamie Lee grew up at the center of Old Hollywood, and her career has spanned long enough that the nepo connection rarely comes up anymore.

The Playing Field Was Never Level

None of this means these people are talentless. Most of them are genuinely good at what they do — some are exceptional.

But talent alone doesn’t explain how you get your first audition, your first agent, or your first meeting with a major studio. It doesn’t explain who picks up the phone for you, or whose name gets mentioned in the right room at the right time.

The conversation around nepo babies isn’t really about whether someone deserves success after they’ve earned it. It’s about acknowledging that the starting line is different for different people.

And for these fifteen, the starting line was somewhere most people never get to stand.
