Elon Musk is known for many things. To start, he’s one of the richest men in the world. The business mogul is best known for his multi-billion-dollar companies, SpaceX and Tesla. He’s also recognized for his contentious mincing of words on Twitter. But one thing he is not so well-known for is launching his own school. Now that the Elon Musk school has garnered more attention, the 51-year-old is expanding the exclusive school, launching it online.

Ad Astra, the small, secretive Elon Musk school that started off with just a handful of students inside a small conference room at SpaceX is apparently proving quite successful. Parents have been vying for spots in this exclusive school for years. Now, Musk is making that desire a reality with the launch of the Astra Nova school.

The mysterious allure of this Elon Musk-based school is not the only thing that makes the virtual institute so appealing. Much like the brick-and-mortar Ad Astra that first started this journey, each and every online class follows a basic structure of principles. Students strive to develop ethical outcomes, teamwork, complex learning modules, and a core drive to cater to individual students learning styles.

While Astra Nova is the brainchild of Elon Musk, this school is run by Josh Dahn. Anyone from across the globe can apply for admission, however, the school runs in a pacific time zone. Currently, families can enroll in either a full-time or part-time program. The school is now accepting children from the ages 10 to 14, or typically those who would currently be enrolled in 5th through 8th grade.

Time zones may be important, as classes are run live. Keeping exclusivity as key, class sizes are guaranteed to never be any larger than 16 students per instructor. As for the price tag for this Elon Musk-built school, tuition can be pricey, up to $32,500 for a full-time student. However, the site directs families to assistance that may be available, to make sure that every student receives a chance.

As for curriculums, Astra Nova operates much differently than the standard school. In fact, they pride themselves on adapting and changing operations each and every year. One major focus in online classes is what the Elon Musk school calls “conundrums.” These open-ended, critical thinking initiatives foster ethical brain development for students, in a manner that children aren’t usually presented within traditional schools. Sticking with Musk’s love for educational learning through games, the online school also uses synthesis in learning modules.

Currently, the school is accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year and reminds inquirers that they are continuously reviewing applications as they don’t necessarily adhere to a traditional school year module. Given the fact that more and more families are turning away from the public school system, the Elon Musk school is likely garnering itself a plethora of applicants. If it continues its success, there is no saying what’s next, as the sky seems to be the limit for the outspoken billionaire. Quite possibly next, the entrepreneur might venture into private Ad Astra schools built across the nation.
